Abstract

This paper explores the genre of Psalms of Trust within the Hebrew Psalter, highlighting their unique characteristics and theological implications. Despite the existence of only six Psalms of Trust compared to fifty-nine Psalms of Lament, these texts, such as Ps 11, Ps 23, and Psalm 91, articulate a profound confidence in God’s protective nature. Through poetic analysis, the study examines how Psalms 11 and 23 express the Psalmist’s unwavering faith amidst life's adversities, emphasizing that the foundation of this trust lies not in the circumstances but in the character of God. The paper aims to draw practical lessons for contemporary believers, illustrating how the Psalms of Trust can provide comfort and guidance in navigating the complexities of faith in a challenging world.
