Abstract

1. Introduction 

Contemporary studies reveal that there is an alarming trend C to confuse leadership with the position one holds. This view does not pervade only the non-Christian Churches, but also, itis at the core of many non-profit organizations tolerating the idea that "the more, one is at the top the more one is able to lead." If so, Christian organizations everywhere are in need of true leadership. The Bible has a lot to offer in terms of what God himself says about leadership. The phrases "to be a leader" or "to lead" abound in meaning. This article intends to review these expressions in order to set a foundational net that every leader has to know. Some questions are in focus in this paper. The questions: how do people become leaders? Is there any specific endowment in social and spiritual leadership abilities? Is there such a thing as being born to lead? Is leadership about actions and not existence? These questions need to be answered by anyone who wants to be a leader.
