Abstract

Faculty participation in research is of increasing importance in institutions of higher education worldwide. A growing literature is springing up that explores faculty research output and ways of increasing it. This small (n = 71) study done at an international college in Asia explores and categorizes faculty members’ understanding of their own competence, confidence, and experience in doing research. It also explores the relationships between knowledge of research skills and actual output.
